Launch Of The Build Communities Strong Fund (BCSF)
Building a strong Canada starts with building strong communities. Across southern Ontario, the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) is working with partner organizations to help communities grow, thrive and contribute to a stronger economy.
We are pleased to share that the Build Communities Strong Fund (BCSF) Local Impact Stream is now open in southern Ontario.
The BCSF Local Impact Stream is delivered by Canada’s regional development agencies, who are investing $1 billion over four years to support community infrastructure projects that will strengthen communities and advance regional economic development.
Through this stream, FedDev Ontario is delivering $330 million over four years for funding shovel-ready projects across southern Ontario that build, expand or improve publicly accessible community infrastructure for public use and benefit. Eligible projects may include: community and multi-use buildings, recreation and sport facilities, cultural infrastructure, parks and publicly accessible outdoor infrastructure.
Application deadlines are based on project start dates.
• The first deadline is July 9, 2026, for projects starting between April 30, 2026, and March 31, 2027.
• A second deadline of August 6, 2026, applies to projects starting on or after April 1, 2027.
